What is FUEL and how will we help unemployed pharmacists become employed?
From Unemployed to Employed League
Based on career development research, getting a job is more difficult when unemployed. But research has also shown that when unemployed job seekers join an employment training program, they are more likely to become employed AND be employed faster than those who do not. In fact, these training programs have resulted in higher starting salaries, lower depression, greater advancement, and job satisfaction. (See references below).
Our FUEL program will place selected pharmacists into a group coaching program, run by Anne Nguyen, PharmD. Anne will apply our proven career development strategy and systems, based on the latest career development research and our pharmacist coaching experience, to help unemployed pharmacists receive jobs. This 3-month program will include training, education, virtual support, and most importantly, coaching.We’re asking for donations from our community to support this endeavor. Your donations will cover our costs to deliver our high-touch career coaching program to a group of unemployed pharmacists.

Donation FAQs
How much can I donate?
$10 to $200+. Our goal is $4,000. If we exceed this limit, it will help fund our next round of FUEL.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
No. We are not a non-profit organization. In addition, because we offer rewards for donations, this prevents classifying as a donation.
When will I get my donation rewards?
As soon as you fulfill your donation, you’ll receive an email with your goodies. Please email support@thehappypharmd.com if you do not receive it within 30 minutes of purchase. Check your spam just for good measure.
Applicant FAQs
How do you select the pharmacists accepted into the group?
A combination of the following: applicant answers, subsequent correspondence, and final interview for qualified candidates.
What if I just lost my job, can I apply?
Yes.
Can I apply if I have part-time work?
No. This is strictly for those without any pharmacist employment.
Is my application private?
Yes. Your information will not be shared outside of The Happy PharmD organization.
What if I’m not accepted?
You’ll be notified of your application being declined.
Will I have to pay for this coaching program?
No. We considered this, after all, services that are freely given are typically not valued, and we suspected people would not be as committed to our career program. However, we ultimately decided to not charge a fee. Instead, we will ask before joining that after pharmacists get their new jobs, if they will be willing to donate at least $50 once employed to a pharmacist-focused charity of free clinic.
The Happy PharmD will match these donations.

If accepted into FUEL, will you help me find a dream job?
Your career choices are your own. We will help you achieve those goals. That said, our goal with this program is to gain employment.
It is certainly easier to get a job similar to your past experience vs. getting a dream job. Getting your dream job isn’t impossible. However, your next job likely is your next step into a dream job.
What if I miss a program session?
One missed meeting is allowed. If more than one is missed, you’ll be dismissed from the program.
What if I do not get a job during the program?
The job market is unpredictable. However, we will continue to support you as you seek employment.
