PHARMACISTS WHO DREAD GOING INTO WORK EVERY DAY:LET ME SHOW YOU…

The 3-Step “Career Metamorphosis” ProcessYou Can Use To Quit The Daily Struggle And Get A Job You Actually Enjoy

(Developed After Working With 500+ Pharmacists)

There’s something horribly wrong with our pharmacy profession…

And the general public has practically no idea.

Because while it might seem like pharmacy is a cushy six-figure job from the outside…

Everyone on the inside knows that’s a complete lie.

Pharmacists are miserable.

Many dread going into work every day. They’re stuck with demanding bosses who don’t (or can’t) help

pharmacists on the front lines. They practically never get breaks.

And maybe worst of all…They’re constantly stressed about ridiculous metrics. If that sounds familiar, then you’re in the right place. Because I’m about to share how you can…Transform a miserable and stressful pharmacy career into one that actually brings you joy and fulfillment… Discover (and use) your natural abilities to find a new pharmacy career path — one where you’re valued, respected, and paid well…And finally, start taking back control of your career as soon as today. Now look, if you’ve been in the field a while, I know those might sound like big promises. But, as someone who has accomplished all these things — I can tell you:It’s not as hard as you think. There is hope. And in fact…You don’t have to leave the pharmacy field…You don’t have to get a new degree or new certification…And you don’t have to start your own business or do anything risky like that.

Really, it comes down to understanding “The PharmD Fallacy” that destroys pharmacy careers…And the counterintuitive “Career Metamorphosis Process” you can use to overcome it.Unfortunately, The PharmD Fallacy is something that was drilled into most pharmacists during school…While the Career Metamorphosis Process was probably something your professors barely glossed over — if they covered it at all.

But after helping 500+ pharmacists — I think it’s the best strategy you can use to start building a career you love.Bottom line:There is hope. And there is a way out. Other pharmacists have already done it. And with the right strategy — you can too.

I Quit My “Dream Job…” And I’ve Never Been Happier

Hey I’m Alex Barker — founder of The Happy PharmD.And after I graduated pharmacy school, I landed my “dream job practicing at the height of our profession…” But it actually turned out to be a nightmare. Here’s why: I dreaded going into work every day, because my “mentor” and my manager made my life miserable. To put it bluntly — they were bullies. It felt like they were just out to get me. Sometimes, it even seemed like they enjoyed making my life a living hell.As I walked into work each day, I’d wonder:”Hmmmm… what am I going to get in trouble for today?”So even though I was making good money — I was a stressed out, depressed wreck. You might think that the misery would end when I left work. But it didn’t.When I got home, I’d tell my wife:”Hey honey, I just need some time to unwind…”Then I’d go into my office to decompress from the day….And sometimes, I would hide in there all night.I was over $200k in debt… I was too exhausted from work to spend time with my two daughters… And I felt totally stuck. The life I had been promised (six figures, cushy job, and the ability to actually help people)…Was not the one I had been given.Sure. I made good money. But my job was anything but “cushy.” And if you thought I was actually helping people each day…You’d be dead wrong. What I was doing felt much more like “number care” than “patient care.”I was angry. But at the same time, deep in the back of my mind, I knew…No one was going to save me. If I wanted something better…A job I actually enjoyed…More energy for my family…And a path from where I was at to where I wanted to be…Then I’d have to do it myself. So one day I decided that I had had enough.I was sitting in my car feeling sad, mad, and everything in-between, when something “broke” inside of me:“I’m not going to keep doing this,” I told myself.Right then and there, I decided I was going to fix my life.Honestly, I had no idea where to start. And I was terrified. But I knew this:Whatever I was scared of couldn’t be worse than the hell I was living in.So I hired a coach. And I spent the next few months learning how to leave my pharmacy job and create a new career path for myself.Long story short:It worked.Since then, I’ve created multiple businesses…I paid off my house 27 years early…I’ve written a book…And I’ve helped hundreds of pharmacists find and create new career paths — just like I did.And right now, I want to share one of the most important — and disturbing — lessons I’ve learned on my journey…

Revealed: “The PharmD Fallacy”

“Go to this school…Take these classes…Get this degree… And then you’ll be set up for an easy, 6-figure job in pharmacy. It will be simple. And you’ll be able to help people!”^ That’s basically the promise I was given about pharmacy. What about you? Pharmacy was supposed to be a “safe” career field. One that was practically guaranteed to grow…One that would pay well… And one where you could actually help people! But if you’re here now — I’m guessing that’s now how it turned out for you. Because that’s not how it turned out for me either. If your situation is anything like mine was…The idea of actually being able to help patients…Or having a single “easy” day…Is nothing but a pipe dream. And even though you might be making 6 figures per year (if you’re one of the “lucky” ones with a full-time position)…You’re also probably weighed down with 6 figures of debt from school…And a degree that seems too specialized to help you get a job in any other field.Pharmacy might seem like a decent job from the outside. But for those who know the truth…It’s nothing more than a set of golden handcuffs. And that’s why so many pharmacists feel stuck in their crappy jobs with no way out. But here’s the thing:It’s not their fault. And here’s why:In addition to being told that pharmacy was a good career path… We were also told that the pharmacy field wanted “rule followers…” People who did things by the book…People who did exactly what was asked of them — without question or complaint. And sure, maybe this philosophy is good if you want to stay stuck in a mediocre pharmacy job the rest of your life…But if you want a job you actually enjoy — it’s a terrible strategy. Why? Because when we do everything “by the book,” we’re not actually focused on doing our best work…We’re just focused on not getting “in trouble.”And even though our degrees are highly specialized — we often feel highly replaceable too… Because the pharmacy job market is flooded with candidates…And it can seem hard to differentiate ourselves from all the other pharmacists out there. So we play it safe. And instead of doing the best we can…We do just enough to get by… Just enough to avoid rocking the boat… Just enough to make sure we’re not putting our jobs at risk.We follow “The PharmD Fallacy,” which basically says: The best way to have a stable, trouble-free career is to do everything by the book. Follow the rules and you’ll be alright. That’s the philosophy we learned in pharmacy school…And while it’s fantastic for patient care, because it helps us keep people safe and healthy…It’s a terrible philosophy to apply to a career transition. And here’s why…

Are You A “Pharmacy Robot?”

As long as we follow The PharmD Fallacy…(Consciously or unconsciously)We’re like “Pharmacy Robots.” Our default operational state is “fear and anxiety…”So we never take any risks. And as long as we never take any risks… We can never take full control of our careers.Because in order to make progress, you have to take some risks and make some mistakes. Here’s a classic example:Think about learning to ride a bike. You probably fell a few times at first, skinned up your knees, and maybe even shed a few tears. But eventually, you figured it out! Now, imagine what would happen if you were so afraid that you never even got on a bike…You probably would never have learned how to ride, right? So if you want to make progress in your career…You have to step outside your comfort zone… Turn off your inner Pharmacy Robot…And start taking a few risks when it comes to your career transition.Because here’s the truth: Pharmacy Robots get scraps. They get the crummy retail or nightshift hospital jobs that no one else wants. And then they get stuck at those jobs — because they haven’t learned how to differentiate themselves from everyone else out there. They’re robots. They’re not unique. They’re replaceable.Think about it:Why do a select few pharmacists LOVE their jobs while the rest of us dread walking through the front doors each day?The pharmacists who love their jobs are the ones who are not Pharmacy Robots…They’re embracing the things that make them different… And then using those unique abilities to solve problems and help companies and patients.Because they’re doing work that feels natural to them, they enjoy their jobs more.Their work becomes more enjoyable, fulfilling, and even effortless. They’re not Pharmacy Robots…They’re Pharmacy People. They’re unique. They’re special. They’re different.Because after working with 500+ pharmacists over the past 7 years, I’ve realized something that might surprise you:The pharmacy industry doesn’t need Pharmacy Robots…(There are enough out there already)It needs real, genuine Pharmacy People.

So, to recap:

  • We were told a lie about the pharmacy field. It’s not the cushy, feel-good job we were promised. For most of us, it’s miserable, exhausting, and makes us feel completely trapped.
  • Pharmacy school turned us into Pharmacy Robots by (inadvertently) teaching us The PharmD Fallacy. Because of this, we’ve become afraid to take risks and try out new things. And that’s a problem. Because trying new things and not being afraid to fail is what often lead to better jobs and happier lives.
  • The happiest pharmacists are Pharmacy People… not Robots. They know their natural skills and abilities. They know the value they bring to the table. And they know how to communicate those things to hiring managers.
  • Pharmacy People are doing what they are naturally good at, so their work is often enjoyable — and even effortless. It’s no wonder they’re often the happiest pharmacists around.

So that means…If you want an enjoyable and fulfilling pharmacy career you have to go through a metamorphosis…And transform from a Pharmacy Robot into a Pharmacy Person. That might sound complicated, but it’s actually super fun and easy. It’s a simple 3-step process:

1. Figure out what your natural abilities are…

2. Figure out how those abilities apply to the pharmacy field…

3. And figure out how to confidently communicate those abilities to an employer.

That way, they’ll recognize your value and hire you for the job that is the perfect fit for your unique abilities. And when that happens…You can transition from a stressful, unfulfilling job…To one that is more fulfilling, more enjoyable — and even effortless.

How To Experience A Career Metamorphosis

Back when I quit my pharmacy job, I had no idea what I was doing.I just knew that I was miserable and that I needed a change. So I hired a coach…And then another…And another.Fast forward to today, and I’ve successfully transitioned out of my old job into a new career that I love. Now I spend my days helping other pharmacists do the same thing. And after spending $40,000+ on coaching…And helping to coach over 500 pharmacists with my own business…I now realize that any career transition comes down to a 3-Step “Career Metamorphosis” Process. If you can…Figure out what your natural abilities are…Figure out how those abilities apply to the pharmacy field…And figure out how to confidently communicate those abilities to an employer. Then you can transition to a different (more fulfilling) career. Some people can do this on their own…But if you’re like me, you might want a little more guidance. That’s why I want to tell you about my brand-new career transition course — made specifically for pharmacists.

“It was very helpful.”

“Actually it did help! In fact I was leaning toward a job that may be opening soon but, every year in the company I work at you have to fill out an affadavitt about things, one of the questions was always “do you or have you done any work for a competitor in the last 12 months?” this year they changed it to ” do you or have you done any work related to any business we do up to and including consulting, compounding, hospital, or any other aspect of pharmacy or other business aspect of our company?” so it appears they are making it so you can’t do anything BUT work for them only. I know two ppl this will affect as they work every 4th weekend for a local hospital. the job that will open up later was a consulting job but it has no insurance………so i would have had to keep working for the big wigs anyhow but i could perhaps have stepped down to part time hours(32) and had insurance. so i’m back to looking at ideas again. It was very helpful.

“I have a clearer direction”

Thanks for the assessment. It did help clarify some of the options I had but had not considered.I’m currently pursuing residency, so after March 13th will have a better idea of next steps. If I do need to get a job, I’ll be focusing on more non-traditional avenues to use my degree. Not sales, since I’m not interested in that, but perhaps more of a concierge pharmacist, or perhaps working with technology. The assessment was good. You did get me thinking out of the box, which was a good thing. I’m not sure I know the best paths suited for me yet, but I have a clearer direction.

Why I Made This Course…

As someone who has been in your shoes before… And suffered through an exhausting pharmacy job…Dreading work every day…And being too exhausted to even spend time with my family at night…I know how miserable it can get.

In fact, that’s why I started The Happy PharmD.I knew that I could use my experience to help other pharmacists create lives they love (just like I’ve been able to). Because my experience — and the experience of hundreds of pharmacists who have worked with The Happy PharmD…Proves that it is possible to transition out of your current job into a better one.And I want to be part of that transition for you. But more than that…I want to make that transition an absolute no-brainer… Because in my opinion — if the words on this page have resonated with you…The absolute worst thing you can do is nothing.Because if you just click off this page without taking any action…Without taking those first steps toward a new career…What will change? Probably nothing. That might sound harsh, but it’s true. Because remember what I eventually realized about my own career:Nobody was going to save me. I’d have to take action myself if I really wanted to change.I think the same is true for you.If you want a new future, you’ll have to take new actions in the present moment to create a new path for yourself. It might be uncomfortable at times…(It definitely was for me)But it is possible. And I know hundreds of pharmacists (myself included) who are living examples of that. All you have to do is start taking baby steps. That’s why I made sure we priced Career Paths very conservatively. Because I want this to be an easy decision for you. I want this to be your first step toward a new, more fulfilling career. So instead of paying 5-figures over the course of a few years like I did…Or even $497 for an hour-long call…(Which is how much my company, The Happy PharmD, charges for career consulting) You can get Career Paths today for just 2 payments of $47.That’s it. $94 total. That’s literally 91.6% less than you’d pay for just a single hour of consultation time with one of our Happy PharmD career coaches. And it’s a fraction of the $40k I paid to transition out of my pharmacy job and create a new path for myself. To put it in just a little more perspective: The average pharmacist makes about $55 per hour…So you’ll be able to pay for the entire price of Career Paths (and then some) with just two hours of work… that’s it.And honestly:Is a happier, more fulfilling career worth $94 to you? I sure hope so… Just click the button you will see shortly to get access to Career Paths today. After you click that button, you’ll be taken to a secure order form.Just type in your information there and click the button at the bottom of the page. Then you’ll be taken to a “Thank You” page where you’ll see your Career Paths login link…Just click that link, and you’ll go directly to the Career Paths Login Page. Then check your email to see your login information. “I appreciate the opportunity to take that assessment”

I appreciate the opportunity to take that assessment. I started a new job thru an agency group in November. I am feeling stuck in the clinical operations role. I really enjoy the clinical roles.  The advice on how to navigate is helpful.

Sandra Jane

“Inspiring!”

I think the assessment did really well in affirming what I was looking for in a career path (informatics) and perhaps even expanding on or clarifying why that was so. It is always reassuring to have some sort of outside voice or assessment confirm “feelings” that you might have but are unable to verbalize or make sense of, which Career Paths does help in itself to address as well.I do like how it also gives a few examples of ideal jobs in different fields. I am not sure about other pharmacists, but sometimes I feel the difficulty when it comes to career paths is simply not knowing what else is out there, or what specific fields/roles entail, especially non-traditional roles.
